About Course

This course will help the learners understand the basics of Principles of Accounts on the main topics which are accounting concepts, books of original entry, the ledger, the trial balance and final accounts. This is their foundation which will make it easy for the learners to understand Grade 11 and Grade 12 Principles of Accounts topics without much challenges.

The ledger
This topic will cover the following: • What is a ledger • Types of ledgers  Sales ledger  Purchases ledger  General ledger . Preparation of the all the three main types of ledgers.

The Trial Balance
The lesson will cover the following: • What is a trial balance • What is the purpose of a trial balance • Posting entries in the trial balance

Final accounts
This lesson will cover the income statement and the statement of financial position. • Explain the term final accounts . Defining the income statement/ statement of financial position. . Trading account items . Profit and Loss items . Balance sheet items . Preparation of the Trading account . Preparation of the Profit and Loss account . Preparation of the Balance sheet
